Positive Interactions With Canadian Women

It is also important to mention that although this EdD study focussed on the systematic barriers faced by Muslim immigrant women in Canada, I have been privileged with positive interactions with some most amazing Western women.
While working in HDSB, I had a mentor principal who guided me in my teaching profession, who for years gave me opportunities to work with her and who became my reference for getting admitted into universities for higher education.
Two other principals and a vice-principal together helped me focus on social justice and guided me to apply my learning to an academic institution and lead the equity stance as an educator in an HDSB school.
One of my professors from the University of Toronto supported and guided me to reach my academic goal. She provided ongoing support in the form of meetings and discussions and gave me opportunities to be the discussant with the other university students. All these women who supported me were Canadian, but they only supported me to reach my best. Their guidance and reference helped me get admitted to one of the world’s best institutes to pursue my doctorate education.
